Georgetown Children’s Tennis Teams – Competitive Group
The Competitive Tennis Team will focus predominantly on match play. Players should be able to serve, return, score, and rally. There will be occasional drills and technique, but the majority will be match play, point construction, and training for matches. This summer, the team will also do a little bit of cross-training, including short runs. This group will compete against other clubs in Friday matches. The Tennis Competition Squad will run from the week of June 18th through the week of August 20th. The practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30-3pm. The cost of the program is $90.

Junior Tennis Championships
The Junior Tennis Team Championships will take place Friday July 20th from 12pm – 6pm. Eight teams from theAnn Arborarea will compete against each other in a dual match in each round. The draws of the teams for the first round will be randomly selected. There will be six doubles flights for a total of 12 players per round. The matched will be decided first by record in sets, in the result of a 3-3 tie, teams will go down to game scores. In the result of tied games, the last team playing will play a 12-point tiebreaker to decide the outcome.
Competing clubs include Ann Arbor Rec and Ed., Barton Hills, Chippewa Athletic Club, Huron Valley Swim Club, Huron Valley Tennis Club, Racquet Club, and Travis Pointe Country Club.
Georgetown Children’s Tennis Teams – Development Group
This is a terrific choice as a companion group for the top level junior classes. This will not be a technique class, but an intro to match play and focus on strategy, scoring, and point construction. Kids must be able to serve, return, and sustain short rallies. The Development Tennis Team is great for players who want to play against other developing juniors, and offers the option to move up groups if the player rapidly improves. The Development Group is part of the Tennis Team but will not compete against other area Tennis Clubs. The Development Tennis Team will practice on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30 – 3:00pm starting the week of June 18th and continuing through the week of August 20th. The cost of the program is $75.
Georgetown Adult’s Tennis Teams
The Adult Tennis Program offers adults a fun, stress free environment to play tennis while being part of a team. Partnering with the USTA, Georgetown will field up to one team in each division: Men’s and Women’s. Adult practices are Saturdays and Mondays for Women and Tuesdays and Sundays for Men from 6:30 – 8:00pm. Matches will be held against other local tennis clubs on Mondays and Thursdays.
