Swim and Dive Teams:
The swim and dive teams continue to be one of our most popular summer programs! The coaching staff is comprised of highly skilled and trained aquatics professionals who combine hard work, fun and sportsmanship to create a team environment that nurtures our swimmers and keeps them coming back year after year. The Swim and Dive Teams begin practicing the first week of June and continue until the end of July. The teams participate in six dual meets and the championship meets that wrap up the season at the end of July. Georgetown competes in the WISC (Washtenaw Interclub Swim Conference) group that focuses on teaching kids about competitive swimming while preserving the fun that goes along with this great sport.
Teams practice five days/week and workout groups are established by age and ability. Placement in our swimming groups is determined by the swimmer’s skill with the four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Each group emphasizes a different level of skill development. A good measure of your child’s readiness for the team is if he/she can swim one length of the pool unassisted. The cost is $110 for the season.
